Lifetime Upgrades Review of WinUtilities Professional

Lifetime Upgrades has downloaded and installed WinUtilities Pro by YL SOftware using the developer's default settings on Windows 7 64-bit operating system as well as Windows XP 32 bit computer. I found WinUtilities Pro's interface simplistic and very appealing. During install, we were asked if we wished to install "Ask Toolbar" and change the "Home" page. Though we were somewhat surprised of this addition to the setup because the customer must pay for the full version.

At first run of this software, I was first presented with the home screen showing four tabs across the top portion of the software. The home screen called "Modules" has six tabs running down the left side of the screen with a clear small description of what their function is about.

Some functions that I was impressed with were:
- The Duplicate File Finder was able to search for my duplicates and quickly found over 4,000 files.
- The function to find empty folders.
- The file protector and shredder did an acceptable job.
- The Clean Up and Repair tool worked adequately with a simple backup available before modification.
- A "Rescue" button to in a sense go back to the pre modification.

What I didn't like about WinUtilites was the following:
- Upon finding the Duplicate files, we were presented with a list of 4,000 and had to search through each of them to find out if they were in the same folders with the same size.
- The Registry Cleaner was very precise but also contained information that was valuable and didn't need to be deleted, but with all of these type of cleaners, we recommend anyone to go through each registry line by line to decide if deletion is necessary.

For those of you who are wishing to use this software, I have to say I believe it to be acceptable and frequently update. I would also say though please be careful when you use any type of software such as this because from my experience it can be destructive.
