Fraps can show your frame rate in games, perform video captures, screen captures and can benchmark your fps! Fraps in some cases is also able to video record your screen. Supports both DirectX capture and OpenGL capture!
Fraps is a generic tool for DirectX and OpenGL games.In its current form, it performs many tasks, including:1. Benchmarking (see how many frames per second you're getting in a corner of your screen;
2. performing custom benchmarks and measure the frame rate between any two points;
3. Saving statistics to disk and use them for your own reviews and applications);
4. Screen capturing (take a screenshot with the press of one key, with no need to paste into a paint program every time you want to capture; your screen captures also are automatically named and time-stamped);
5. Real-time video capturing (record audio and video while playing your favorite game at up to 1,024x768 resolution at 30 frames per second).
Fraps is a straightforward and easy to use video benchmarking tool for your gaming and recording needs.
Clearly Fraps is one of the best screen video recording software packages online today for the gaming enthusiast.
The latest version of Fraps includes an update to the loop recording mode, allowing you to specify a custom length for the buffer (rather than the default 30 seconds). To activate the recording loop simply press and hold your video capture hotkey until the Fraps counter turns pink, indicating that loop recording has begun.
We have also included new optimizations for recording at high resolutions such as 1920x1080 (1080P). Performance gains should be seen in most OpenGL and DirectX games with Fraps 3.4. Changes since the last release are listed below:
Changes on the new version:- Fixed overlay color in Fear 3.
- Fixed detection of IL2: Cliffs of Dover and Bloodline Champions.
- Fixed counter appearing in Thunderbird and Pale Moon applications.
- Other minor bug fixes.
